Maria T Morales, Alternate Kids' Instructor

Maria is Sensei Sample’s wife. She is from Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico where she started her Karate training with Sensei Narciso Dominguez in Shotokai style. Her family moved to Tucson, AZ, and she continue her training with Sensei Kenneth Carson at his Rendokan Dojo learning to transition to Shotokan. After moving to Orange County, California, she trained on Shorin Ryu style at Sensei Manos’ Anaheim Hills Dojo. She returned to Arizona and continue learning Shotokan karate from Sensei Tom Hyder in his Glendale Dojo. She then joined Sensei Shojiro Koyama’s Phoenix Dojo during his final years of teaching. Maria participated in tournaments, seminars, and clinics with many great Masters of Karate during her karate career. She holds a Ni Dan (second degree) and loves to transfer her knowledge to our students. She and Sensei opened Phoenix Shotokan Dojo in 2014.
